Our company was founded in 1963 in Akita Prefecture, Yuzawa City(formerly Ogachi town).

We were the first company to sell local homemade pickles on the market in this area, and today we are one of Japan’s leading pickles companies. Among our products, the IBURIGAKKO, smoked Japanese pickled radish, has become well-known throughout the country for its unique recipe and taste.

high quality pickles. Located in the heart of the Ou Mountain range, Ogachi has some of the heaviest snowfall in Akita. In springtime, the freshly melted snow provides nourishment to the mountain vegetables.

Later, shaded by the mountains, the climate here becomes cold in early autumn, which produces ingredients and vegetables that make especially tasty pickles.

Since ancient times, the people of Ogachi have harvested vegetables in the fall and preserved them to eat during the long winter. These people have developed various styles which have been passed down through generations.

For Ogachino Kimuraya, a method that best uses the flavors of the four seasons above all else is the starting point for producing our pickles.

Since Ogachino Kimura’s establishment, we have been developing the best pickles using traditional local styles.

Furthermore, in pursuing a method that best uses the flavor of the ingredients themselves, our goal is to avoid the use of additives as much as possible.

Our most popular pickles, “Iburigakko”, we make according to recipe handed down in our family. It is well known and loved by many customers throughout the nation.

Avoiding Additives

We use a traditional pickling method, so we avoid modern additives, such as preservatives, artificial coloring, antioxidants, and so on, as much as possible.

Therefore, our pickling takes a lot of time and effort. However, through the traditional process of pickling, our products preserve their delicate natural taste.

We are committed to using organically grown vegetables. Ogachiユs environment, in addition with our careful selection and pickling, produces quality pickles.
